2020 BMW 3 Series G20 Fuse Box Diagram

Reach this box from the front passenger's side: it is bolted low in the footwell behind the kick trim under the glove compartment (BMW's "front right" power distribution box). Release the two turn fasteners on the footwell cover, swing it down, and the fuse carrier is right in front of you. For the 2020 model year (cars built from July 2019, including the new G21 Touring and the 330e) BMW stopped putting a paper card in the box; the assignment is the online card for your VIN at fusecard.bmw.com, whose 2020 edition is the same 8 715 720 layout as 2019.

Reading the carrier upright as the card draws it: fuses 20 to 29 fill the left column from the top, with 30 tucked beneath 29; 31 to 38 form the narrow column alongside, beginning level with 23; 39, 40 and 41 are the big blade fuses on the right. Below the relay block the small fuses 67 to 76, 59 to 61 and 62 to 66 stand in columns on the left and the wide fuses 46 to 52 and 53 to 57 on the right, each column numbered downwards. 27 and 47 have no fuse on the 2020 card and 41 is a 50 A fuse.

Behind the passenger-side A-pillar trim, above the footwell fuse box, sits the body domain controller with its four large connectors and a single column of six small fuses. On 2020 cars (built from July 2019) the fuse card assigns them as in 2019: the steering column switches and head unit on F1, the OBD socket on F2, the climate control and sensors on F3, the door handle electronics on F4 and the central locking relays on F5 and F6.

Counting starts at the top of the column: F1 is uppermost, F6 lowest, the column standing between connectors CON4 and CON3.

Left of the steering column, low behind the trim of the driver's footwell, sits the G20's "front left" power distribution box with the two relays R1 and R2. It is not one of the boxes the owner's manual expects you to open; the 2020 model year (from July 2019) carries the same card as 2019 here: fuses at 102, 107 (10 A), 108 (15 A), 113, 117 and 118, everything else empty.

Count from the bottom of the right-hand column: 101, 102, 103, 104 upwards, then 105, 106, 107 in the small sockets above. The next column to the left holds 108 to 111 with 112 and 113 above, then 114 to 117 with 118 and 119, 120 to 123 with 124 and 125, and at the far left 126 to 129 topped by 130 and 131. The relays R2 (left) and R1 (right) fill the bottom of the housing.

Look behind the right side trim of the luggage compartment, above the wheel arch: a cover panel hides the rear power distribution box, and the sound insulation may need lifting first. Model-year 2020 (built from July 2019, saloon and Touring) uses the same assignment as 2019; the card is now downloaded per VIN instead of printed. On the 2020 card the outer right columns (240, 281 to 296) belong to the high-version box only, and 207, 229, 238, 267, 279 and 280 hold spare fuses.

The box is read as the card shows it, the big module at top left. Bottom-left quarter: two columns 200 to 205 and 206 to 211 counted downwards, the column 212 to 216 beside the wide column 217 to 220, and the row 221 to 230 underneath. Top centre: the row 231 to 240; beneath it the small rows 242 to 246 and 247 to 252, then 253 to 258 over 259 to 264; the row 265 to 274 along the bottom. Right: 276 to 280 and 281 to 286 in two columns and the ten wide fuses 287 to 296 down the edge.
