2016 BMW 3 Series F30 Fuse Box Diagram

On the right of the engine bay just ahead of the bulkhead (left on right-hand-drive cars), beneath the removable cowl panel and the box's own lid. 2016 is the first full model year of the LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) 3 Series: the 340i with the B58 engine, the 318i three-cylinder and the 330e plug-in hybrid arrived, but the fuse carrier and its allocation card, 9 228 158-02, are the ones the pre-facelift cars used; the card stays in the luggage compartment.

How to count along the plate: the eighteen small fuses on the top edge are 18-35 from left to right, the fifteen on the bottom edge are 42-56, the seven standard fuses lying on their sides at the left are 57 (top) to 63 (bottom) and those at the right are 64 to 70; 36-41 stand between the two relays. Cards of this edition leave 30, 35, 38, 39, 49, 51 and 59-61 unoccupied.

In the boot, under the floor panel and right of the centre line; a pocket on the box cover holds the fuse allocation card and the puller. The LCI cars of model year 2016 (the first with the 340i and the 330e hybrid) keep the F30's front electronic module / rear electronic module architecture, so the rear box and its card (9 228 158-02) are unchanged from the earlier cars.

Counting order on the card's plate: the top row is 100-104 then 105-111, the block right of the first relay is 112-117, the small block left of centre is 118-120 next to 121-123, the bottom row is 124-135 then 136-142 - all from left to right. The outer left column reads 143-148 then 149-153, the inner left column 154-159 and the right column 160-166, from the top down. Not fitted: 101, 102, 105, 108-112, 115, 118, 119, 129, 131, 133, 134, 136, 138, 156-158, 166.

Right side of the luggage compartment behind the trim panel, on the rear electronic module (REM) fitted above the battery. Even after the 2015 facelift the F30 keeps a separate REM with its own five fuses, and the 2016 cars are documented with the 9 228 158-02 card.

Five mini fuses in a single column at the module's right-hand end. Slots are numbered from the bottom, 1 to 5, and hold fuses 82, 85, 83, 84 and 80 in that order - so 80 is the topmost fuse and 82 the lowest. Fuse 81 does not exist. The other housings are relays.
