Junction box behind the glove compartment (from 09.2007)
The junction box sits behind the glove compartment on the passenger's side. Open the glove box, turn the two quick-release catches a quarter turn and lift the cover away; the spare fuses and the plastic puller clip onto the box itself, and BMW's fuse allocation card for the car is tucked into the back of the cover. Model-year 2010 cars (built from September 2009) carry the third numbering of this box, the one BMW introduced in September 2007 and printed on the facelift (LCI) card with a start-stop symbol in its index.
Read the plate the way the card is printed: three blocks of MINI fuses along the top count 1-5 over 6-10, 11-15 over 16-20 and 21-25 over 26-30. The ATO fuses 31-49 beneath them run upwards in pairs of columns (31 at the bottom left, 33 at the top of that column), with two sockets the card leaves unnumbered. Fuse 50 stands on end beside the wiper relay; the flat MINI fuses 52-61 climb in two columns; 62-66 sit over 67-71; the bottom band holds 72-77, the three window-lifter fuses 78-80 on end, the block 81-86 and the six MAXI positions 87-92 at the right, every column of which counts upwards. Kl. 30g marks the terminal-30g relay.
