2003 BMW 3 Series E46 Fuse Box Diagram

A 2003 model-year E46 (built September 2002 to August 2003) carries the September 2001 fuse card until the March 2003 facelift and card 6 953 026.9 after it; the ratings are the same on both, the later card only adds the adaptive headlights to its index. The panel is behind the glove-compartment lid: open the lid, turn the two white latches outwards and swing the panel down with the puller and the card on it.

This is the left-hand section up to the puller: the two flat MAXI sockets and the upright 50 A fuses 35, 36 and 37 at the outer end, then the two rows of ATO fuses, 1 to 15 above and 38 to 52 below, counted left to right with 38 beneath 1. Four flat pockets in between hold spares and positions 1 to 4 are empty.

To get at it, open the glove box, turn both white latches outwards and lower the panel; the fuse allocation card (the 2001 print, or 6 953 026.9 from March 2003) is clipped to the panel and its right-hand tables cover these positions.

The positions run in two rows from the puller to the right: 16 to 34 on top, 53 to 71 underneath, with each lower fuse directly below its upper neighbour. 16 to 21 are empty sockets, 66 holds a fuse only with the SMG gearbox, and spare fuses sit in the four flat pockets between the rows.
