2019 BMW 3 Series G20 Fuse Box Diagram

BMW calls this box "front right": it sits in the front passenger's footwell of a left-hand-drive car, behind the trim panel below the glove box. Turn the fasteners on the footwell cover and fold it down to reach the fuses; the box is the one nearest the door sill. The 2019 cars were the first G20 saloons (built from November 2018) and still carried a printed fuse card, edition 71.23-8 715 720, in the box.

Two columns run down the top half: the wide fuses 20 to 29 on the left with the small fuse 30 under them, and the small fuses 31 to 38 beside them from row 23 downwards. The three large fuses 39 to 41 stand on the right above a relay housing. The lower half holds 67 to 76 on the far left, 59 to 61 then 62 to 66 next to them, and the wide fuses 46 to 52 and 53 to 57 on the right, every column counted from the top down. On the 2019 card 27 and 47 are empty and 41 carries a 50 A fuse.

The body domain controller (BDC) is the central body computer of the G20, mounted on the right A-pillar of a left-hand-drive car behind the trim beside the front passenger's footwell, above the passenger fuse box. Six of its fuses are shown on BMW's fuse card; they protect the module's own circuits, the diagnostic socket and the central locking relays. The 2019 card (8 715 720) rates them 5, 7.5, 7.5, 5, 20 and 20 A.

The fuses form one column between the connector blocks CON4 and CON3, and are counted from the top: F1 at the top, F6 at the bottom.

The second interior box is on the driver's side of a left-hand-drive car, under the dashboard in the driver's footwell, behind the trim to the left of the pedals (BMW's "front left" power distribution box). The owner's manual lists it as an additional fuse box for the workshop. On the 2019 cars only 102, 107, 108, 113, 117 and 118 hold fuses; 107 and 108 are 10 and 15 A.

The numbering runs from the bottom right corner upwards: 101 is the lowest fuse of the right-hand column and 107 its top one, then 108 to 113 climb the next column to the left, 114 to 119 the middle, 120 to 125 and 126 to 131 the two left-hand columns. Each column is a group of four fuses with a pair (or, on the right, a triple) of small fuses above it, and the relays R1 and R2 sit along the bottom edge.

The main fuse box of the G20 is in the luggage compartment on the right-hand side: open the cover in the side trim behind the right wheel arch, move the sound insulation aside if it is fitted, and the carrier with its fuse puller is in front of you. The 2019 cars (first G20 saloons, from November 2018) carry the printed card 71.23-8 715 720; the right-hand part of the box, with fuses 240 and 281 to 296, exists only on the high-version box of well-equipped cars.

Rows read left to right and columns top to bottom as the card draws them, with the large module top left. Lower left: 200 to 205 and 206 to 211 in two columns, then 212 to 216 next to the wide fuses 217 to 220, and the row 221 to 230 along the bottom. Centre: the row 231 to 240 at the top, the small blocks 242 to 246, 247 to 252, 253 to 258 and 259 to 264 below it, and the row 265 to 274 at the bottom. Right: the columns 276 to 280 and 281 to 286, and 287 to 296 down the edge. 207, 229, 238, 267, 279 and 280 are spare-fuse slots on this card.
