2002 BMW 3 Series E46 Fuse Box Diagram

For the 2002 model year (production from September 2001) BMW reprinted the E46 fuse card: fuse 66 is now the SMG feed and 54 is rated 20 A, but the box itself is unchanged. It is the panel inside the glove compartment; open the glove box, turn both white latches outwards and lower the panel to reach the fuses, the red puller and the card.

Shown here is the part of the box to the left of the puller. From the outer edge inwards: the two flat MAXI sockets, the three upright 50 A MAXI fuses 35 to 37, then the upper ATO row 1 to 15 and the lower row 38 to 52, numbered left to right and aligned column on column. Spare fuses lie in the four flat pockets between the rows; 1 to 4 carry nothing.

Open the glove box, turn the two white latches at the sides of the panel outwards and let the panel hinge down; the September 2001 card edition clipped to it prints these numbers in its right-hand tables.

Upper row 16 to 34, lower row 53 to 71, both running left to right away from the puller, lower fuses aligned under the upper ones. 16 to 21 are empty on every car, position 66 is populated only with the SMG gearbox, and the four flat pockets between the rows hold spare fuses.
