2012 Audi A3 8P Fuse Box Diagram

The 2012 edition redraws this holder as plate B8P-1577 and makes two changes to its list: position 8, empty on the earlier cars, becomes the instrument cluster's 5 A supply, and 20 is named for Audi magnetic ride, printed without a rating.

It is behind the cover at the driver's end of the instrument panel — lever the cover out at the recess with the door open and pull it off; the pliers, the layout sticker and two spare fuses ride inside it. VW knows the part as fuse holder C. Its top half is three rows of MINI fuses, 1 to 6, 7 to 11 and 12 to 21; its middle three rows of ATO fuses, 22 to 31, 32 to 39 and 40 to 45; its bottom edge one more MINI row, 46 to 49. Rows read left to right. Positions 7, 21, 29, 30 and 35 stay unassigned, and the window and seat motors are on self-resetting circuit breakers instead of fuses.

Audi's 2012 book renumbers the drawing B8P-1797 and prints its fuses red, but the housing is the one used since the facelift: the electronics box on the left of the engine compartment against the battery, opened by pressing its two catches in the arrow direction and lifting the cover off.

Thirty positions, of which 25 to 30 are MAXI blades and the rest ATO. Top band: F1 and F2, then F3 to F8, the large F25 and F26, the two sideways positions F9 and F10, and F11 to F15. Middle band: F16 and F17 at the left, F18 to F20, F21 to F24. Bottom: the large F27 to F30, with the relay housings A1 in the centre and A2 in the right-hand corner. What the 2012 edition changes is the table rather than the plate — F1 is no longer listed in it, though the workshop assignment keeps the position at 40 A; F13 spreads to 15, 20, 25 or 30 A by engine; F20 and F21 to 10, 15 or 20 A; and F23's list of engine components grows.

Cars with more than four cylinders — the S3 and the RS3, whose CEPA and CEPB five-cylinder engines are the 2011–2012 ones — take the tall version of the engine-bay holder, fifty-four positions where the four-cylinder box has thirty. It occupies the same electronics box beside the battery, under the same cover.

No US owner's manual after model year 2010 prints its table; the layout below is plate B8P-0232 from that edition, and the assignment is the workshop fuse list's, which runs to the end of the 8P. The top band holds F1 to F5, the large F47 and F48, F6 to F8, relay R4 and F9 to F14. The middle holds F15, the stacks F16 to F18 and F30 to F32, the groups F19 to F21, F22 to F26 above F33 to F37, and F27 to F29 with relay R2 and the large F49 to F51. The bottom holds F38 to F40, relay R1, the large F52 to F54, F41 to F43, relay R3 and F44 to F46. Stacks are read downwards and rows from the left; 47 to 54 are MAXI, the rest ATO.
