2006 Nissan Altima L31 Fuse Box Diagram

On the last of the L31 Altimas the block is still in the driver's footwell at the lower edge of the instrument panel, behind a snap-off cover; the 2007 car that replaced it moved to a different platform and a different electrical architecture. Nissan's November 2006 printing of the PG section is the final edition written for this body, and it is the one this page follows.

Every socket takes a low-profile mini blade standing upright, in two rows across thirteen column positions. Row one holds 1 to 7, an empty column where the fuse puller sits, then 8 to 11 and one spare. Row two holds 12 to 18, position 19 in the puller column, then 20 to 22 and two spares. Red bodies are 10 A and blue 15 A, so a glance along the rows sorts them before you read a single number.

Final-year L31 cars carry the same intelligent power distribution module on the left of the engine compartment, forward of the battery and under a clip-on lid. Nissan's last book for this body is dated November 2006 and its fuse table is the one set out below; the 2007 Altima that followed uses a different module with a different numbering again.

Nineteen mini blade fuses lie flat in a two-column field. Numbers climb from the bottom of each column: 32, 33, 34 and 35 up the inner column, a gap, then 36 to 41 at the top; 42 up to 50 in the outer column, which is set one cell lower than its neighbour. In a photograph of an open module the field reads as alternating red and blue bodies, 10 A and 15 A, with the 20 A yellow of the defogger and wiper feeds standing out among them.

The last L31 keeps the arrangement its predecessors had: a black holder over the battery tray carrying the high-current links and eight blade fuses, with the horn relay bolted into its inboard corner. If neither fuse box explains a dead circuit, this is the next place to look - a melted link is usually the symptom of a short somewhere else, so find the cause before fitting a new one.

Eight numbered positions in two groups of four, 24 to 27 above and 28 to 31 below right, surround eight lettered cartridge links. Reading the top line from left to right after the numbers: f at 50 A, g and h at 30 A, then an empty i. The bottom line runs an empty j, k and l at 40 A and the taller m at 40 A. Positions 24, 27 and 30 are moulded sockets with no circuit behind them on this model year.
