Glove compartment fuse box, positions 1-15 (left part of the row)
Model-year 2002 cars (built September 2001 to August 2002) keep the facelift allocation card 6 907 364 clipped to the fold-down panel in the glove compartment; a 2002 530i photographed with its fuses in place shows the same colours in the same sockets. Inside the glove box, turn the two white quick-release fasteners to the left and the panel swings down towards you.
Fuse 1 is at the far left of the single row and 45 at the far right; this diagram shows the first fifteen, with the numbers moulded into the lip below. The horizontal sockets above 8 to 12 are spare-fuse pockets. Position 8 has no fuse on a 2002 card.

Glove compartment fuse box, positions 16-30 (middle part of the row)
The middle fifteen positions, 16 to 30, of the fuse row that folds down out of the glove compartment of a 2002 5 Series. On this year's card the fuel pump relay sits on 22 (25 A, white), the rear armrest controls on 23 and the diesel automatic transmission on 28; 26 is not assigned.
Left to right, 16 to 30; the numbers are moulded under the fuses, so read the lip rather than the card's table rows. Two spare pockets lie flat above 27 to 30. Reach the panel through the glove box by turning both white quick-release fasteners to the left.

Glove compartment fuse box, positions 31-45 (right part of the row)
Right end of the row (31 to 45) on a model-year 2002 car. The card 6 907 364 that BMW clipped to these panels puts the active seat and seat heating on 32 (25 A) and the rear air-conditioning blower on 35 (5 A); 33 and 36 are empty and 37 to 45 are the 5 A and 7.5 A control fuses for the immobiliser, airbag, cluster, audio and sun blind.
31 is at the left of this diagram and 45 at the right edge of the panel; each number is moulded beneath its fuse. Three spare-fuse pockets sit above positions 33 to 41. The panel is reached by opening the glove compartment and turning the two white quick-release fasteners to the left.
