2012 Ford Escape II Fuse Box Diagram

2012 was the last model year of the second-generation Escape, and its owner's guide lists exactly the 2010-2011 fuse assignment. The panel is mounted on the right side of the centre console near the floor of the dashboard, facing the front passenger; take off the console side cover and unclip the fuse cover at its top and bottom tabs. The spare fuses at 1, 13, 16, 30, 33, 34, 42 and 44 are fitted in the panel itself. Ford's drawing shows sixteen upright fuses along the bottom (1-16, left to right), rows 17-19 and 29-31 on the left, rows 20-26 and 32-38 to the right of relay 48, 41-42 upright and 43-46 horizontal across the top, and 39-40 with 28 and 27 at the right edge. 47 is the power-window circuit breaker. On a 2012 Escape Hybrid, fuse 1 is the 110 V inverter and 37 a spare.

On the final 2012 Escape the power distribution box, its plate and its table are the same as in 2010 and 2011. The box is on the driver's side of the engine bay, against the fender next to the battery; disconnect the battery before any high-current fuse is touched, and put the cover back before reconnecting. Bolt-down MIDI fuses A (80 A, power steering) and B (125 A, feed to the interior panel) are under the terminal tabs in the upper left corner. Fuses worth knowing here: 3 (20 A console power point), 13 (10 A A/C clutch), 22 (20 A fuel pump) and 7 (15 A liftgate latch). Relays: 20 A/C clutch, 21A defroster, 21B fuel, 21C blower, 21D PCM, 30A cooling fan 1, 30B starter, 30C fan main, 30D fan 2, 31A reversing lamps, 31C-31E trailer tow, 31F liftgate latch. 33 is the PCM diode and 34 the start diode.

The 2012 Escape Hybrid, the last of the second generation, keeps the 2010-2011 hybrid power distribution box assignment. The box stands on the driver's side of the engine compartment beside the 12 V underhood battery; disconnect that battery before servicing it. Hybrid-only loads: 40 A cartridge 4 for the electric brake vacuum pump (relay 30B), 50 A cartridge 15 for the traction battery control module, 10 A fuse 14 for the heater and coolant pumps (relays 31C and 31D), 5 A fuse 8 and 20 A fuse 26 for the battery control module and fuel pump. Brake control module cartridges 9 and 18 are 50 A. MIDI fuses A (80 A, power steering) and B (125 A, interior panel) sit under the terminal tabs. Other relays: 21A defroster, 21B ignition, 21C blower, 21D PCM, 30A/30C/30D cooling fans, 31A reversing lamps, 31F liftgate latch.
