2009 Ford Escape II Fuse Box Diagram

For 2009 the Escape gained the 2.5 L four-cylinder and a six-speed automatic, and the interior fuse panel was re-assigned to suit: the overdrive-cancel and speed-control fuses of 2008 (30, 33) became spares, SYNC moved onto fuse 3 and the moon roof onto its own 30 A fuse 4, so breaker 47 now covers the power windows alone. The panel is still on the passenger side of the centre console, below the dashboard; remove the console side cover, then release the fuse cover by its top and bottom tabs. Read the plate with the long row 1-16 at the bottom: rows 17-19 and 29-31 at the left, rows 20-26 and 32-38 to the right of the delayed accessory relay 48, 41-42 upright and 43-46 flat along the top, 39-40 upright and 28 over 27 at the right. Every position is a mini fuse. Early 2009 printings of the guide put an ABS feed on fuse 34; later ones list it as a spare.

In the 2009 Escape (2.5 L four-cylinder or 3.0 L V6) the engine-bay power distribution box is still found on the driver's side next to the battery, but its assignment changed with the new engines: cartridge 4 is empty and the fuel pump moved to mini fuse 22 with its relay at 21B, fuel injectors take 23, ignition coils 26 and the PCM 27-29. Fuse 7 and relay 31F now serve the liftgate latch. Always disconnect the battery before working on these fuses. The two MIDI fuses under the terminal tabs are A (80 A, electric power steering) and B (125 A, interior fuse panel feed). Cartridges: 2 rear defroster, 3 console power point, 9 and 18 ABS, 10 wipers, 11 starter, 12 blower, 16-17 cooling fans, 19 power seats. Relays: 20 A/C clutch, 21A defroster, 21C blower, 21D PCM, 30A-30D fans and starter, 31A reversing lamps, 31C-31E trailer tow. Diodes: 33 PCM, 34 start. Empty: 15, 24, 31B, 32, 36, 37.

The 2009 Escape Hybrid moved to a 2.5 L engine and an electric vacuum pump for the brakes, and its power distribution box shows it: cartridge 4 (40 A) now runs the vacuum pump through relay 30B, cartridge 9 and 18 (50 A) feed the brake control module, and cartridge 11 and fuse 6 are empty. The box is on the driver's side of the engine compartment alongside the air filter housing and the 12 V battery; disconnect that battery before pulling a high-current fuse. MIDI fuses A (80 A, power steering) and B (125 A, interior panel) are bolted under the terminal tabs top left. Cartridge 15 (50 A) feeds the traction battery control module, fuse 14 the heater and coolant pumps. Relays: 20 A/C clutch, 21A defroster, 21B ignition, 21C blower, 21D PCM, 30A/30C/30D cooling fans, 31A reversing lamps, 31C heater pump, 31D coolant pump, 31F liftgate latch. Diodes 32 (A/C clutch) and 33 (PCM); 31B, 31E, 34, 36 and 37 are empty.
