2016 BMW X5 F15 Fuse Box Diagram

For the 2016 model year - the year the xDrive40e plug-in hybrid arrived (autumn 2015) - the front distribution box is still the one under the glove compartment: loosen the three fasteners of the lower glove-box trim in the passenger footwell and fold the panel down. The plug-in hybrid adds its own consumers to this box (the N20 entries on 33 and 41), otherwise the card matches the 2014 and 2015 cars: 62 still carries 30 A on cars built up to June 2016.

Positions are laid out as printed on the card. Top row, left to right: 18-35. Bottom row: 42-56. Left column, top to bottom: 57-63. Right column: 64-70. Centre, between the relay housings: 36-38 (larger ATO blades) then 39-41 (MINI). Numbers on this drawing sit under each fuse because the MINI rows are too tight for numbers beside them.

Behind the right-hand luggage compartment trim, under a small cover, the 2016 X5 carries its rear fuse box standing on end, together with the plastic fuse puller and the fuse card. This is the model year of the xDrive40e: the high-voltage battery (102), the pressurised fuel tank module (112) and the auxiliary battery charging controller (120) are hybrid-only rows; the card values are still the pre-July-2016 ones.

The card is printed landscape and so is this drawing. Across the top: 100-104 and 105-111. Right of centre: 112-117. Lower left: 118-120 and 121-123. Across the bottom: 124-135 and 136-142. Down the left: 143-148 and 149-153, with 154-159 next to them. Down the right: 160-166. 167 is the soft-close position from the workshop drawing, above 121-123.

In the 2016 X5 the body domain controller (BDC) fuses - window motors, door locks, heated rear window, horn, headlight and diagnostic-socket supplies - are on the control unit itself, which stands on the passenger-side A-pillar behind the footwell side trim. Pull back the edge protection at the door aperture and release the side trim from its clips to expose the module; the fuses are in the middle of it, between the connectors.

As the card prints it, two rows of seven read right to left: 7-6-5-4-3-2-1 above, 14-13-12-11-10-9-8 below. Fitted upright, the rows are columns. 8 and 14 are unused.
