Junction box behind the glove compartment

The junction box with all the blade fuses is behind the glove compartment; the glove box tilts down out of the way once its damper is unhooked (push it forward) and the two side tabs are pressed, as BMW's handbook (edition VI/13) describes. Model year 2013 is the facelifted X1 (LCI, built from July 2012) and the first sold in North America; the US sDrive28i and xDrive28i (N20) and xDrive35i (N55) use the same fuse allocation card as the European cars, so the ratings below apply on both sides of the Atlantic. Spare fuses are not stocked on the carrier - the puller is.

Numbering scheme (BMW's E9x type 3 card, in the X1 since its launch): 1-30 are the MINI fuses in three blocks of two rows along the top; 31-49 are ATO fuses in six short columns read from the bottom up (31, 32, 33 in the first, 47, 48, 49 in the last, no socket for 43); 50 stands alone at the left; 52-61 fill two upward-counting columns of flat MINI fuses; 62-66 and 67-71 are MINI fuses on end in the centre; 72-77, 78-80, 81-86 and the MAXI fuses 87-92 occupy the bottom, the last two blocks read upwards with the left column first.
