Behind the glove box. Fold the glove compartment fully down - release the damper from its lower seat by pushing it forward, then squeeze the two side tabs - and the junction box is in front of you, with the fuse puller clipped to it and the allocation card on the inside of the cover. Model-year 2012 cars (built from September 2011 to June 2012, the last before the July 2012 facelift and the first with the N20 turbo four-cylinder in the 20i and 28i) use the same 92-position card as the rest of the E84 run; the card in hand already lists the N20's lower ratings for positions 37 and 38 next to the older engines' 30 A.

Orientation: the card is drawn as you see the box from the passenger footwell. MINI fuses 1-30 fill three two-row blocks at the top (the second row continues five later, so 6 is under 1); the six ATO columns 31-49 are each numbered bottom to top; fuse 50 stands on end at the far left; the flat MINI pairs 52-61 rise from 52 at the bottom left to 61 at the top right; 62-71 form two rows of five in the centre; then come the bottom row 72-77, the upright ATO trio 78-80, the ATO block 81-86 and the MAXI block 87-92 - each of those two blocks counted upwards, left column before right.
