Left side of dash panel - carrier A (black)
Carrier A is the black one, first of the three behind the cover on the left-hand end face of the dash panel; the cover is exposed with the driver's door open and the fuse puller clips into it.
Its main column holds twelve MINI fuses numbered 1 at the top to 12 at the bottom, and four larger ATO positions, 13 to 16, run down a strip along the column's right-hand edge — 13 level with 1 to 3, 14 with 4 to 6, 15 with 7 to 9 and 16 with 10 to 12. The ratings shown are the ones Audi's 2014 US manual printed: the 2015 edition keeps the same table but drops the Amps column and names the circuits only.

Left side of dash panel - carrier B (brown)
The brown carrier B is the middle of the three fuse carriers on the left-hand end face of the dash panel, between the black A and the red C.
All twelve of its positions take ATO blade fuses and are numbered from 1 at the top of the column to 12 at the bottom. Its circuits are the driver's-side heavy ones: the wiper motor, the driver's door and left rear door control units, the ESC valves, the seat heating. The 2015 owner's manual lists those functions without ratings, so the values here come from the last edition that printed an Amps column.

| 11 | 30 AATO | Left rear door control unit (window, switch, lighting) | |
| 12 | 5 AATO | Rain and light sensor |
Left side of dash panel - carrier C (red)
Carrier C is the red one at the right-hand end of the group behind the dash panel's left end face, and the only one of the three with empty sockets at the head of the column: positions 1 and 2 are unassigned.
The remaining ten ATO fuses run 3 to 12 down the column, numbered from the top as on the neighbouring carriers. Several of them feed the onboard supply control unit, and 9 and 11 the panorama roof and its sun blind. The assignment on this side of the car was reissued with the 2013 facelift, so it does not match the left-hand carrier of a pre-facelift Q5.

Right side of dash panel - carrier A (black)
On the passenger's side the dash panel has a second end-face cover, and behind it two carriers: A, black, on the left and B, brown, on the right, with a relay housing beyond B.
Carrier A is mostly empty. Only four of its twelve positions are fitted — 5 for the steering column switch module, 7 for the diagnostic connector's ignition-switched feed, 8 for the gateway and 9 for the auxiliary heater — and the column is numbered the opposite way to the driver's side, 1 at the bottom and 12 at the top.

Right side of dash panel - carrier B (brown)
Carrier B, brown, is the right-hand of the two carriers behind the passenger's-side end face of the dash panel, with the relay housing immediately beyond it.
Twelve ATO positions are numbered from the bottom of the column upwards. They carry the cabin electronics — instrument cluster, ignition lock, light switch, MMI, climate control and its 40 A blower — and where a rating depends on the equipment fitted, as at position 3 (5 A with MMI, 20 A with the radio), the lower value is stored and both are named.

Luggage compartment - carrier B (black)
The luggage compartment's fuses are on the right-hand side, behind the side trim under a cover. Three carriers are behind it: B and C together on the left, then a gap, then E on the right.
B is the left-hand one, with the large 50 A fuse beside it, and its twelve ATO positions are numbered from the bottom up. The gap next to it is where carrier D used to be — the 2013 facelift deleted that carrier and moved its circuits to B, C and the dash panel — so the four-carrier plate of an older Q5 does not describe this car.

Luggage compartment - carrier C (brown)
Carrier C, brown, sits between the black carriers B and E in the luggage compartment's fuse recess on the right-hand side, behind the side trim.
Its twelve ATO positions are counted from the bottom upward. Four of them — 5, 6, 8 and 10 — cover equipment the US car was not sold with (the 230 V inverter socket, the fuel-fired auxiliary heater and its remote receiver, the rear seat heating switches), so the American tables leave them out; they are drawn here as the options they are.

| 12 | 5 AATO | Telephone preparation (mobile phone amplifier, phone holder) |
Luggage compartment - carrier E (black)
Carrier E is the black one at the right-hand end of the luggage compartment's fuse group, set a little lower than B and C and separated from them by the space the facelift left when carrier D was deleted.
Twelve ATO positions run from 1 at the bottom to 12 at the top, and 9 and 10 are unpopulated. The top two belong to the SCR diesel that reached the US range for 2014: 11 is the AdBlue heater and 12 the AdBlue supply, which is also the hybrid's high-voltage battery feed at 15 A.
