Engine compartment fuse box
The 2016 XC60's under-hood fuse box is on the driver's side, rearmost in the bay by the wiper cowl. Pop the clips and lift the black lid to see the owner-replaceable blades.
The housing and its three decks carry on from 2015, and so does the split between four-, five- and six-cylinder ratings. New for 2016: blade 40 powers the five-cylinder's oil pump, crankcase ventilation heater and coolant pump, and blade 41 drops to 7.5 A on four-cylinder cars. Start/Stop cars still leave 1, 3, 4, 5, 11 and 34 empty.

Glove compartment fuse box A
For 2016, box A under the XC60's glove compartment is reached as before: fold the trim panel aside, press the lock on the cover and fold it up. It is the left-hand of the two boxes.
The infotainment fuses are re-described for the Sensus system: 16 feeds the display, 17 the amplifier and SiriusXM radio, 18 the Sensus control module. Blades 13 and 14 go back to plain power-seat feeds, and 28 now covers park assist, BLIS and the parking camera.

Glove compartment fuse box B
The 2016 XC60 keeps box B on the right under the glove compartment. Fold the trim aside and lift the cover to reach its 24 blades.
Blade 17, empty in every earlier year, now feeds the satellite radio and the audio amplifier, and HomeLink moves from blade 3 to blade 6 alongside the courtesy lighting and rain sensor.

Cargo-area fuse box
The 2016 XC60's cargo-area fuse box sits behind the left-hand side trim of the luggage area. Take the panel out and the fuses face the tailgate.
Blades 1 and 2 serve the two electric parking brake motors, 3 the heated rear window, 4 and cartridge 11 the trailer socket, and 5 the optional 20 A power tailgate. Blades 6-10 and cartridge 12 are empty in the 2016 manual, the same as 2015.

Engine compartment cold zone fuses (Start/Stop)
Only XC60s with Start/Stop - an option with the four-cylinder engines - have this cold-zone fuse set in 2016. It sits in the rear part of the engine bay, split over a main-feed block and a smaller Start/Stop block.
The breakers here replace positions 1, 3, 4, 5, 11 and 34 of the main engine box on those cars. Links 1, 7 and 8 are unused; the 175 A MEGA links A1 and A2 are marked but not drawn, and blade 12, the only owner-serviceable fuse, is shown as a MINI because its type is not published.
