2009 Volvo XC60 I Fuse Box Diagram

On a 2009 XC60 the main under-hood box sits on the left of the engine bay near the base of the windshield, in the cooler rear corner away from the exhaust. Release the lid clips; the tweezers clipped inside the lid pull the small blades.

Volvo spreads the 44 positions over three faces of one housing - A is the upper deck, B the front face, C the lower deck beneath A - and numbers them continuously. The owner may swap 16 to 33 and 35 to 41; 1 to 15, 34 and 42 to 44 are circuit breakers and cartridges the manual reserves for a Volvo technician. The 2009 book still calls the roof fuse 26 the moonroof.

In a 2009 XC60 the interior fuses sit under the passenger-side glove compartment. Fold the trim covering them towards you, unlock the fuse cover and lift it; spare fuses ride in the pockets between the two rows.

The module takes 28 MINI fuses standing upright, numbered left to right along the top row and then again along the bottom row from 15. Positions 5, 8, 12, 16 and 24 are unassigned. On this model year position 10 still feeds the moonroof, as Volvo's 2009 book words it.

On a 2009 XC60, open the left-hand side panel of the cargo area to reach three fuse modules one above the other. The top one, module A in black, is the module drawn here; B (white) and D (blue) below it are listed in the manual but not illustrated.

Module A holds ATO blades 1 to 10 - down the first column, down the second, then 9 and 10 at the top of the third - and two cartridge fuses below 9 and 10, with 12 to the left of 11. Blade 6 feeds the 12-volt socket in the cargo area and blade 7 the rear window defroster.
