2008 Volvo XC60 I Fuse Box Diagram

XC60 production began at Ghent in 2008 and those first SUVs were sold as 2009 models, so this page follows the first owner's manual Volvo printed for the car in November 2008. The engine compartment box is the black relay and fuse centre on the driver's side of the bay, back towards the windshield; unclip its lid and the fuse puller is on the underside.

The box has three levels, drawn here as Volvo's handbook draws them: A on top, B on the face towards the front of the car and C underneath A. Positions 1 to 44 run across all three. Early cars leave 42 and 43 empty and put the 80 A cooling-fan link in position 44; the bolt-down links 1 to 7 and 42 to 44 are for a workshop, the small blades are yours.

The first XC60s carry a single central electrical module under the glove compartment on the passenger side. Reach under the glovebox, fold aside the carpeted trim panel, press the lock on the fuse cover and swing it up.

Twenty-eight MINI blades stand on end in two rows of fourteen, 1 to 14 on top and 15 to 28 below, with a row of spare pockets between them. This is the November 2008 assignment that the 2008-built cars left the factory with; it covers the airbags, the steering-column lock and the START/STOP ENGINE button.

Behind the trim on the left-hand side of the XC60's cargo area there are three stacked fuse modules: A (black) on top, B (white) in the middle and D (blue) at the bottom. Only module A is drawn in Volvo's first-edition manual, so it is the one shown here.

Its ten horizontal ATO blades sit in two columns of four plus two at the top of a third column, numbered down each column; the two cartridges at the bottom right are 12 on the left and 11 on the right. In the 2008-built cars they protect the four door control panels, the rear defroster, the tow-bar sockets and the power tailgate.
