Engine compartment fuse box (fuse holder B)
On the left of the engine compartment beside the battery, under a cover: press the catches in the direction of the arrow to unlock it; the plastic fuse pliers clip inside the cover. Volkswagen's fuse holder B: F23-F32 in a row along the top, F2-F5 stacked at the left, F21/F22 and F20 by relays R3 and R5, F6-F14 in a row across the middle, F15/F16 beside R2, F17-F19 at the bottom and the bolt-down position F1 below the box; relays R1-R8 as Volkswagen labels them. Positions 1, 3, 6, 11, 13, 19-22, 25, 30, 31 are unpopulated on the car the assignment list documents.

Instrument panel fuse box (fuse holder C)
Behind the cover on the driver's side of the dash panel on left-hand-drive cars (reach behind the cover and pull it off in the direction of the arrow); behind the glove compartment on right-hand-drive cars. Volkswagen's fuse holder C: F1 on end at the left, five columns numbered from the top (F2-F11, F15-F24, F25-F34, F38-F49, F53-F64), the large positions F12-F14 and F35-F37 below the first columns, F52 on end, F50/F51, F65/F66 and F67 at the lower right, relays R1-R3 along the bottom.
