Engine compartment fuse box
At the front left of the engine compartment, next to the battery. Release the cover, fold it up and lift it off. The box mixes MINI fuses, JCase cartridges (8-10 and 26-28) and one 70 A MAXI fuse (22) with the engine relays, laid out as the owner's-manual plate draws it: 1-10 along the bottom (10 at the left), 11-21 in two rows at the right, 22-32 at the left, 33-35 at the top. Positions 34 and 35 are spare sockets.

Instrument panel fuse box
Behind the light switch on left-hand-drive cars: pull the top edge of the panel and fold it down. On right-hand-drive cars the box is behind a cover in the glove compartment. Two columns of MINI fuses, 1-7 on the left and 8-14 on the right, numbered from the top down; positions 1 and 8 are unpopulated.

Luggage compartment fuse box
Behind the cover in the left-hand luggage compartment trim; take the cover off the box. MINI fuses 1-4 stand in a row along the top, numbered from the right; 5 sits alone below them; 6-11 and 12-17 lie in two columns numbered from the top down, with three relay sockets to their right. Only 1, 3, 4, 8, 15 and 17 are assigned; the rest are spare positions.
