Engine compartment fuse box (IPDM E/R)
Open the bonnet and look at the right-hand rear corner of the engine bay, under the black air intake duct: the IPDM E/R sits below it, and its lid comes off when you press the tab and lift. Nissan's first-year Sentra B17 book, printed in December 2012, shows the same box for the 1.8 MRA8DE with either the CVT or the six-speed manual, and warns that only the taller type A blade fuses belong in the underhood boxes.
Positions carry the numbers moulded into the housing and printed on the lid label, F1 to F24. Two short pairs stand on end at the left (F1 above F3, F2 above F4); the long column in the middle counts F5 down to F14; F15, F16 and F17 stand side by side below the relays; and the right-hand column runs F18 at the top to F24 at the bottom. The crossed-out cells on the label - 8, 18, 19 and 23 - are sockets Nissan leaves empty.

Engine compartment fuse and fusible link box
The second underhood box sits in front of the battery, between it and the front bumper, and holds the car's big fusible links as well as eight ordinary fuses. Its cover unclips with a single tab and the layout is moulded into the inside face. The 2013 owner's manual does not describe this box at all; it appears in the service manual's power supply section.
Nissan numbers the blade fuses 23 to 30, continuing the sequence that starts in the passenger compartment. Fuses 23 to 26 stand in a row across the upper left - two Bose supplies, a transmission feed and the audio unit - and 27 to 30 across the lower right, for the horn and alternator, the second transmission feed, the daytime running lights and the stop lamps. The eight cartridge positions carry letters instead of numbers: F, G, H and I along the top right, J, K, L and M below them. The horn relay is the housing at the left-hand end. Nissan letters those positions instead of numbering them, so each is drawn as a socket with its letter and rating printed underneath.

Passenger compartment fuse block
Open the driver's door and look at the end of the dashboard: a small trim panel comes away with a plastic tool or a cloth-wrapped screwdriver, and behind it is the fuse block. The fuse puller clips into the block itself, at the head of the middle column.
Three columns of low-profile fuses fill the block. Nissan's numbering, the one used in the wiring diagrams and on the service manual's fuse block plate, starts at the top of the right-hand column: 1 is the heated-mirror fuse in the cell that sits above the others, 2 to 7 run down that column, 8 to 14 down the middle column, and 15 to 22 down the left column, where 15 is the power socket. The fuse databases count the same cells from the other end and call that one F1.
