Left-side fuse block
The 2012 Mazda 3 - the first facelift year, and the year the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 engine joined the range - keeps the cabin fuse block where every BL has it: at the left-hand end of the instrument panel, behind a cover that comes away when the front door on that side is open. Nothing has to be unscrewed and the panel sits high enough that you can work it kneeling outside the car. The June 2011 handbook, form 8BY6-EA-11F Edition 1, still titles this plate "Fuse block (Passenger's side)".
The reading order is unchanged from the pre-facelift cars. Column one holds the three cartridge positions 1, 2 and 3; the six blade columns to their right carry 4 through 21 counted downwards column by column; the bank across the bottom runs 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 33, 34 with 23, 25, 27, 29, 31 beneath its first five. The table, though, is the most heavily rewritten of the four BL editions: the Bose feed moves from 1 to a new 25 A position 33, 10 HAZARD gains the turn signals, 11 METER becomes the instrument cluster, 14 CIGAR is reworded as an accessory socket, and three previously blank positions acquire the names ROOM2, METER2 and AUDIO2 without gaining a rating.

Engine compartment fuse block (MZR engines)
On the 2012 Mazda 3 the engine bay block is the tall grey housing bolted to the left-hand inner wing ahead of the battery; its lid unclips upwards and carries the assignment plate and the fuse puller on the inside. This is the year the range split in two - the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 arrived alongside the MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5 and the MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo of the Mazdaspeed3 - and Mazda's June 2011 book (form 8BY6-EA-11F Edition 1) prints six of the thirty-nine rows twice, once per engine family. This diagram is the MZR version.
Geometrically nothing moved. The plate still opens with a blank nameplate top left, the eight small blades 32-39 in two rows of four beside it, and three stepped rows below - cartridges 1-2-3 ahead of blades 4-8, cartridges 9-10-11 ahead of blades 12-16, cartridges 19-20-21 ahead of blades 22-25. The right-hand area is thirteen relay housings interleaved with cartridges 17, 18 and 26, blade 27, the small row 29-30-31 and the bolted 80 A steering link 28. On an MZR car positions 1, 9, 10, 17, 38 and 39 read FAN 2, F.DEF RH, F.DEF LH, HEATER, ENG BAR 2 and ETV.

Engine compartment fuse block (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)
A 2012 Mazda 3 with the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 engine uses the same engine-bay housing as every other BL - left inner wing, ahead of the battery, lid clipped on over the plate and the fuse puller - but six of its thirty-nine sockets are wired to different circuits. Mazda's June 2011 handbook (form 8BY6-EA-11F Edition 1) footnotes those rows *1 for SKYACTIV-G 2.0 and *2 for the MZR engines, which is why this generation's first SKYACTIV year needs a diagram of its own.
The arrangement is identical to the MZR plate: blank nameplate at the top left, small blades 32 to 39 in two rows of four beside it, then three stepped rows of wide cartridges followed by small blades (1-2-3 with 4-8, 9-10-11 with 12-16, 19-20-21 with 22-25), and a right-hand field of thirteen relay housings around cartridges 17, 18 and 26, blade 27, the row 29-30-31 and the 80 A bolted steering link 28. What differs is the assignment: 1 is DCDC and 17 is PTC, both unrated, 9 carries the 40 A air conditioner blower and 10 the 20 A EVVT feed that the MZR car leaves blank as heated-windscreen positions, 38 is a 15 A injector feed and 39 an unrated EHPAS IG position.
