Inner fuse panel
Open the driver's-side kick panel cover of a 2012 Sorento and the interior fuse block faces you, angled towards the floor beside the parking brake pedal.
The MY2012 book - the XM CAN edition printed in April 2011 - is the first to list a passenger seat fuse and a heated steering wheel fuse, so this year's box carries 37 live circuits where the first edition had 35. The grid itself is unchanged: six columns wide, seven deep, with the top-left socket and the second socket of column two - both blank in 2011 - taking the two new circuits. Positions are named rather than numbered on the car, so the numbering below follows the cover label from the top left across each row.

Engine compartment fuse panel
Lift the plastic cover off the box beside the battery of a 2012 Sorento - press the tab at the front and pull the cover up - and the layout is printed on its underside.
Kia's April 2011 handbook edition leaves the engine bay untouched: the same label 91941-2P020 and the same twenty-nine rated positions as the first model year. The heavy current lives at the bottom, where seven bolt-down strips carry the ignition, ABS, blower and defogger circuits together with the three battery feeds that supply the interior panel, and the alternator's own 175 A link is bolted below them - it comes out only with the battery disconnected. Above them sit the ignition and trailer cartridges, the wiper, cooling fan and starter relays, and the engine sensor fuses.
