Instrument panel fuse panel
On the last pre-facelift Optima the fuse panel is where it has been since 2011: under the dash to the left of the steering wheel, behind a cover you reach by leaning into the driver's footwell.
Thirty-seven positions, laid out as the cover label draws them - six columns of six with the bottom right cell blank, then the AUDIO and ROOM LP power connectors below the block. Nothing on the box carries a number, so the numbering here is the order the label reads, and each fuse keeps its Kia name: MODULE 1 to MODULE 5, PDM 1 to PDM 3, S/HEATER FRT and RR, and so on. Kia relabelled this panel completely for the 2014 facelift, so a 2014 chart does not fit this car.

Engine compartment fuse box (2.4 GDI)
The 2013 Optima is the last of the pre-facelift cars and its 2.4 GDI engine box is unchanged from 2011: on the left of the engine bay next to the battery, under a clip-on lid.
Everything on this plate is named rather than numbered, so the order used here is the order the chart reads. Three things are worth knowing on this car: EMS (40 A) feeds the small EMS box that holds HORN, ECU 3, ECU 1 and F/PUMP; IP B+ 1, 2 and 3 are the three battery feeds that keep the interior panel alive; and what the handbook calls ABS 1, 2 and 3 is printed ESC 1, 2 and 3 on the lid. Kia redrew and renamed this label for 2014.

Engine compartment fuse box (2.0 T-GDI)
On a 2013 SX with the 2.0 turbo the engine compartment box looks identical from the outside; the difference is inside the lid, where label 91950-2T781 assigns three cells that the naturally aspirated car leaves blank.
Those cells are EPB 1 and EPB 2, the two 30 A electric parking brake feeds, and the 40 A RR HTD that the handbook lists as CVVL (not used) for other engines. The high-speed cooling fan takes the 60 A multi fuse. Three ratings differ between the printed handbook and this lid - TCU 1, STOP LP and DEICER - and the lower, handbook value is the one shown here, with the lid's value written into the fuse's own description.
